DESCRIPTION: This project consisted of asbestos abatement, iron ore clean up and complete demolition of fifteen structures and two 200ft stacks at the former iron ore manufacturing facility in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. The demolition process involved over one half million square foot of concrete and ten thousand tons of steel materials that were downsized and recycled. Environmental clean up involved sorting and disposing of florescent tubes, PCB ballasts and transformers. This “harsh weather conditions” project was completed on time per the mandated schedule.
